Sub-keywords enable you to extend the functionality of your keyword by giving you the ability to have your keyword act in many different ways and support multiple keyword types including Subscription, Response, Forward and Contest.
A sub-keyword is a second word following your keyword separated from the keyword by a <space>.
When you select the subscription keyword type for a sub-keyword it is important to note that subscribers do not opt in or out of opt out of sub-keyword(s) as they are subscribing to the main keyword and not the sub-keyword(s). The sub-keyword simply moves them into the interest under the keyword. When you unsubscribe from a keyword you are unsubscribed from the keyword and all associated sub-keywords.
You can also create an unlimited number of sub-keywords.
By using the sub-keyword "LUNCH" setup as a Subscription type keyword, you are able to segment your members based upon the sub-keyword-interest combination they text in. The example below enables you to reach a portion of your members who have specifically requested "LUNCH" text messages.
